ISing choir will collaborate with the Big Horn Brass Quintet and organist Dan Miller to perform works by Sir Karl Jenkins, a distinguished Welsh composer and multi-instrumentalist known for his profound spiritual expression and integration of classical, jazz, and world music elements. Recognized internationally and frequently performed, Jenkins’s compositions have had a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. The concert will feature his “Adiemus: Songs of Sanctuary,” notable for its use of an “invented language” that treats the voice as an instrumental element, thereby crafting a distinctive auditory experience. Visual projections of the Tualatin River will accompany the performance.
ISing’s mission is to share innovative and exceptional choral music while supporting local non-profit organizations. In keeping with ISing’s mission, the choir will be accepting donations (cash, check or credit card) to support this season’s beneficiary, Tualatin Riverkeepers, a community-based organization that protects and restores the Tualatin River watershed.
This concert series is made possible through grants from the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation, the Cultural Coalition of Washington County, the Oregon Cultural Trust, and the Oregon Arts Commission.
